My memory of Valentine's Day. We always exchanged valentines in my classes. And when it was time to address them to classmates, I always had a method. Spread out all valentines from box. Nicest/best were chosen first and those went to the "cute boys." Next nicest went to my friends. Then classmates I didn't interact with much or at all.

That left just one... the doggone ugliest valentine in the box. That one was always reserved for the thorn in my side... my nemesis, Patty. One year she made me soooo mad. Gave me a *pretty* valentine and caused me some serious guilt.

Decades ago when I lived in a flat with other students, one asked if we could send a card to a friend of hers who was going to get married, a guy. Send some desperate card as if you're his old lover or admirer.

I thought it was stupid, but obediently sent him a card. I don't even know who he was. I bought a card with a goat that had a flower in his mouth and wrote: So and so remember me and don't marry that silly goat! She said that they were super happy with these dumb cards lol.
