Stephen King married 50 years today

Love all of his work.

Stephen King, earned my respect from the get-go, courtesy of a story I read about him. He had started rolling the dough in and had bought himself a fancy car, but not wanting to come across as flaunting his newfound wealth, he left his new car at home and drove his old jalopy to the get-together.

Now that's my kind of people.
 

I wonder what it’s like being married to him. He comes up with such bizarre, scarey, stories that I just wonder what he is like on a day to day basis. Apparently he’s pretty darn nice if they have been married 50 years!

His wife Tabitha is also an author of the bizarre. She has a number of books out there.
 
Is he the guy while exhorting young people to go to college added "or else you'll have to settle for the military."? If so ---- him and the hoss he rode in on.
 
One of the things that impressed me about him is that he refused to travel the country to do interviews. He did this from the beginning, before he was famous. With most publishers this is a requirement, or at least it used to be. I'm not fond of his type of stories. My life has provided enough horror without needing someone to fabricate it. But a lot of people like stories about "ain't it awful" and he capitalized on it. And he's following his dream. That's one of the most important things a person can do with their lives. It's about being true to yourself.
