Stephen King's Books Made Into Movies

Yeesh, that was a terrible way to be introduced to what is really a very engaging and captivating story. I've heard it called an allegory of the Vietnam War and I can see that.

Yes, I plan to (re)watch it at some point. It was just really bad timing that night.

I agree with everyone that enjoys Stephen King’s novels. He is quite the writer.

I really liked Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, but I didn't think much of the Dark Tower film. Having read all 7 books in the Dark Tower series, reducing it to one short film was an absolute travesty.

I agree about Shawshank and Green Mile; I think those are the 2 best movie versions of his work.

Have you tried any of Joe Hill's (one of SK's sons) work? He is also very good. Horns, is my favorite book, by Joe Hill.

I read ‘Heart Shaped Box” - Scary book!

You know, I think that might have been the first, full-length story by Joe Hill that I listened to. It was very good and, I agree, scary.

The first time I listened to a Joe Hill book, it was an anthology called, 20th Century Ghosts, and at the time I didn't know he was SK's son. I remember thinking that the stories were very SK-like and enjoying that about them. I found out who he was, I think, after Heart Shaped Box.

20th Century Ghosts is good, overall, but there is a story in it called, Pop Art that is one of the best short stories I've ever read (heard).
