Still No Deed

I still haven't received the deed to my new house and it's been almost 7 months. It's not like I had a mortgage. How long does it take? When I asked my attorney at the closing of my old house last month, she just shrugged.

Call the Registrar of Deeds at your county courthouse.

Not today - probably the county offices are closed because of the blizzard.

Seems like a longer than expected time-frame, perhaps your county just doesn't provide a paper copy these days. I've never seen a real property deed, and I've owned many properties, both mortgaged and free & clear.
