Still working at 103!

Loren Wade works for Wal-Mart in a garden department and just celebrated his 103rd birthday. To still be working and make it to this age astounds me, and makes think of filling out an employment application. How about you?

Actually working at a Walmart garden department might be very nice - meeting and chatting with people, being around pretty plants -- what's not to like? If one needed a job Walmart might be OK, but a positive attitude might come in handy.

Really .. good for him .. I feel lazy now!

I don't think I'll ever be employed again, I've worked my whole life, but never say never, there's no telling what the future holds, - a nice little job might just come along that is hard to resist.

I told a new friend of mine that I ran across a paper version of my CV and decided to just keep it even though I'd never need it again. She said never say never. Then she said 'what if your husband died'. Huh?! If I had to find a job because my husband died I'd be in very deep sh*t wouldn't I? And very badly prepared for retirement. What if he died when I was 90? Then she said what if you got bored? Don't think so. The last thing I would do if I was bored would be to find a job.

Kudos to Wal-Mart for not replacing him with youngsters willing to work for minimum wage ($7.25 an hr), and for appreciating the worth or seniors…more reliable, more experienced, more knowledgable (except techy stuff maybe), and more respectful customer service.

Greetings! Working at 103! That is so awesome! We all have it in us, but not many see it that way. People around us have a tendency to treat us as if we were old or something!
I am now busier than I have ever been. I don't know how I ever found the time to work at a "job"? I am writing and spending time with people (most of them much younger) sharing
the many adventures I have had and encouraging them to go for their dreams!
How about you Ralphy? What are you up to these days? ! CNH
