Stoopid move of the week......

The Air Force jet team The Thunderbirds have been flying over my house since Thursday, low and loud. Today is the last day of the air show so I went out to stand on the sidewalk to watch them.

I'm standing there, looking up and following them with my eyes and forget about the effects of gravity and what happens when you lean too far back. Next thing I know, I'm on my back, full length in the bed of ground ivy. Amazingly comfortable, it was.

Nothing hurt but my dignity. The neighbors had a good laugh, though.

I had a similar experience years ago. I was standing in a ski lift line. I had a plastic bottle of apricot brandy to keep me warm. As I tilted my head back to drink, my skis slid out from under me and I fell on my butt
The guy standing next to me said,"I'll have what he is having"

It's times like that when you find out who your friends are!

Glad to hear that you are ok!

When I was a kid I loved kaleidoscopes. My mom got me one from Woolworths department store when we went to town . It was made of hard cardboard and plastic.
When we got home I followed her down the sidewalk. I had one eye closed and the other looking at the beautiful patterns as I turned the scope.
Suddenly she stopped but I didn't . I ran right into her and for weeks after had a black and blue ring around my eye just like the dog in Our Gang TV shows.

Thunderbirds are amazing!! ... have seen them in action ...

i live not far from McGuire AFB in the middle of NJ. back in a more innocent time, they always did a HUGE free thing for Memorial Day. you'd drive off the road, park in grass, get cooler (on wheels was much better) and folding chairs and settle in for the show. someone would announce the Thunderbird, what direction they would be coming from, and how many SECONDS till their arrival.

I came out of the grocery store just now and started loading my shopping bags in my car. Realized my purse was not with me.... flew back into the store, it was still sitting there in the cart (trolley =P) unmolested. Thankfully I live in a small town with either A) good morals or B) ubiquitous blindness. Whew!
