Having worked in a chemical plant that made detergents, most people over pay. One product goes into several different company bottles all from the same batch. Plus the average home has all the ingredients to make your own very easily.
 
Having worked in a chemical plant that made detergents, most people over pay. One product goes into several different company bottles all from the same batch. Plus the average home has all the ingredients to make your own very easily.
That's why I started making my own. I was pretty pist when my usual bargain-price detergent suddenly shot up from $5 to over $12 at the start of the pandemic, but when I found out companies were already charging 1,000s of times more than it costs to produce, I was done.

Next time I went up to the cabin, I got that old recipe and brought it home with me.
