Stop creating art, because...

I stopped creating 2D, 3D art, I stopped crazy shopping... when I pass away, who will clean up my garbage?

I changed my hobby to gardening because plants will go back to nature, nothing to worry about.

What are your thoughts?

I agree. However, you could always scan your work and store it on computer.

Also, you scan it at different stages.

I don't know where this original drawing is anymore. But I have it electronically.

Drawing can be very good for your spirits. So doing it would be good for you. Get you back in touch with yourself.

My thought is - I'm still living my life. I'll do what makes me happy. What happens afterwards isn't my problem. It'll probably all go to a landfill. I'll be dead, so I don't care.

Excellent likeness! I used to draw and paint but portraits were never my thing. I always felt that my efforts were weirdly stiff and well, just weird. For a pencil sketch, yours is great.

I think it's a good idea to live light, regardless of age. But do what you love. What brings you great joy?
Perhaps you will live on through your art.
How long will you live? 80? 90? 110?
I hope you live your best life every day.

I also like to draw with pencil or pen, especially when I need to think about stuff.
I not as good as you Old Feller buy my fish is my fish. I pick up one of my Guitar
when I need an active workout with thought. It relaxes me most. There is just
something about burning my hands on my Axes that works wid me. I just
play along, blues or modern stuff. Just play with them. Hack a Bass with the Blues
a lot but not always.

I live on a farm, so getting back to nature is no problem. I quit my art/music making about 15 years ago. Never looked back. :)
I pretty much quit doing that sort of stuff too for a variety of reasons, but I have to admit it was tough in the beginning. I think I had a habit of 'being artsy' and when I retired and no longer had that urge to create stuff, it was a little bit like withdrawal from being artsy.

My problem is similar to yours. I have tons of art and supplies, only some of it organized and listed. I quit mid-stream hoping to feel better and finish sorting and catagorizing. The problem is I feel worse every day and wish I had pushed on when I could have done a mediocre job instead of no job at all.

I got rid of all my art supplies and paintings when I downsized about 6yrs ago.

I totally regret it.

Maybe what you could do for your own peace of mind, is to donate it too a kindergarten class or give it to someone you know who could use it. That way you don't have to look at it and get pangs of regret every time you see it.

Gardening is certainly worthwhile.

I like doing something with my hands. But I hear what you are saying. I have too much fabric and yarn. I went through the yarn and will be taking some to the thrift store this week. Crafters are on the lookout for deals. A few years ago a large quantity of craft items were donated to the PAWS thrift. Beads, fabric, artificial flowers, wire, scrapbooking supplies and more. It sold. And I bought some of it.
