Stop growing alfalfa in Imperial County

$120 a month for only 50 cubic feet of water
Your rates are much higher than ours. We pay about $20 per month for 10,000 gallons, or about 1,330 cubic feet. After the first 10,000 gallons ours goes up by about 10%. This is separate from sewer, we pay $49.50 a month for that.

So we pay about $650 per acre ft for that first 10,000 gallons. In contrast my irrigation water costs me $20 per acre foot. And some of those California almond growers pay even less than I do.

None of this makes much sense... has little to do with the real cost of water.

We were in Las Vegas about 3 years ago, and the level in Lake Mead was quite a bit lower than normal, Then, we were in Denver this past April and there was almost no snow in the mountains, Lake Powell is little more than a wide river, anymore. Unless there are several years of major snowfalls, in coming years, the entire SW is at risk for major water shortages.
Heard that. Last time we were at lake mead, we were parked within 50 feet of what used to be the boat ramp.
The yellow circle is our 36 ft motor home and 24 ft enclosed trailer. The red cross was the boat ramp. :(
