Store brand products that are better than name brand

Kroger Jumbo hamburger buns ...I like the ones with sesame seeds.
Buns are HUGE, tasty, and keep for a long time.

Great Value half n half is the best I've used, no after taste. Great Value plain whole milk Greek yogurt has no added carbs but Chobani does (6 vs 12) & is somewhat more tolerable to eat, I add a little nutmeg/cinnamon much better.
 

Walmart, and most store brands, are just as good as most Name brands. I had the pleasure of helping out at the Walmart headquarters in Bentonville, AK. several times when I was working, and that company contracts with many of the major brands to produce their products with the Great Value logo...on the same assembly lines, using the same ingredients as the Name brand....the Only difference is the name on the packaging. Wy pay more for a name???
 
There are a few products that I prefer name brand, but most things I buy store brand. It's just as good, often better, and lower price.
 
My store brand has some vegetables in cans call the silver line. A little more expensive than their regular store brand but not as expensive as name brands. They have very good green beans. Almost the texture of frozen beans and not mushy.
 
I've found walmart canned goods to be about as good as brand and way better than Kroger. There are a few things I do prefers he branded, but won't mention their names so I won't get deluged with ads.
 
I have found several store brand products I like as well as name brand. Wegmans has several good store brand products. As does BJ's club. Much of what I buy at BJ's is their own brand. Great Value from WalMart and some of the stuff from Price Rite (Shop Rite in other areas) is good too. I have found it is trial and error. Some stuff I have liked, others not so much.
 
Many so called different store brands come from the same supplier. I see a definate difference in some canned veggies so I go premium there. Same with coffee. I never buy meats like ground meats that are from outside companies because when there is a recall you hear the different labels attached to the same vendor. Too scary. Store brand soups are typically bad.
 
I like the jumbo cashews, which are pricey. Walgreens brand, which is called Nice, has a good sized bag (1 pound) for much lower price than grocery stores. A lot more bang for your buck. Even better when on sale, so I watch for that.

same here. A bakery close by here makes wonder bread, great value, little giant, and piggly wiggly bread and probably a few more that I'm forgetting. all off the same line. :)
 
I have mixed results with store brands. I recently bought some HEB branded cream cheese instead of Philadelphia, and I can definitely tell the difference in quality. Plus my cheesecake isn't nearly as creamy. Dang.
