Stores honoring gift cards

Did you ever have a problem with a store or other business not honoring their own gift cards? If so, what did you do about it?

What was the reason you or someone you know was given for it not being honoured.

I had two $10 gift cards to a convenience store. I tried to use them together, but the clerk said I could only use one per visit. It seemed silly to me.

No disrespect, but it is silly to you because you are cheap. What you want to do is get rid of the cards and not do business with them again? Or rarely? Store policy of one usage of a card per transaction is better business and within their rights. This way, they are ensured you will come back.

that is a common condition here - and the fine print will probably say something like "not to be used with any other promotions/ or only one card per customer or transaction"
