Yesterday, I was very stressed out and hadn't eaten in too long in the day and hardly slept either. I got very dizzy and a bit nauseated. Even after I ate my blood sugar was way lower than normally and I have diabetes. It wasn't too low though that I needed to call the doctor but I thought about how important it is to try and relax, eat right and get enough sleep especially when you have diabetes. I do think I had an episode of too low blood sugar before I ate and that helped it. I felt very sick for awhile but then started to feel better.
I found an article on it: Stress and Blood Glucose Levels
EFFECT OF LONG STRESS ON BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS
It is important to be aware that repeated episodes of stress can cause serious changes in blood sugar levels, making it harder for diabetics to manage their condition and increasing the risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
Constant stress will also cause adrenal fatigue leading to adrenal failure, which is why it is vital to remove stress from your life, especially if you have diabetes.
So it's Very important to try to relax, exercise, meditate, and eat and sleep right especially when you have diabetes.
