Today I just saw the headlines that if anyone leaving their home with out a reasonable excuse, the power has been given to the police
to issue $11.000 fine or 6 month in Jail.. wow that is a bit of a hike ..
NSW Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement Order 2020) makes it unlawful to leave your place of residence except "to obtain food or other goods and services", work and education that cannot be done from home, exercise, medical or caring reasons, and a limited number of other reasons.
It also bans gatherings of more than two people in public places, unless those people are members of the same household, or the gatherings are "essential for work or education". Unlike the order in Victoria, the NSW order does not appear to ban those gatherings in people's residences. Amazing rules but must be followed ..
 

My grown daughter flew to Sydney with her boyfriend from Cambodia about a week ago, where they both worked and resided for over a year....they're living in his Mom's apartment but will eventually have to move out....my daughter is working from at home and still getting paid.
I just sent the link to her @Rainee, thanks....
They both felt that staying in Cambodia would be a detriment to their health if they got this virus....there's no good health care there and they possibly would never be able to fly out anywhere in the future. Please stay safe, to you and your family and friends.
 
Our police have had their wrists slapped for being too
eager to fine people £30 for infringements, it seems
that the Government want cooperation from the Hoi
Polloi, but don't want any upsets, or the people not
loving them anymore.

I have a cousin stuck somewhere in Oz, she went to
visit relatives and now can't get home to Spain where
she lives, still I would rather be stuck in Australia than
Spain just now, Spain has more cases and deaths than
Italy now.
 

It seems that in the UK, there is no consistency in how the police interpret the restrictions.
Some appear to hand out fines when no clearly defined offence has taken place. For example if someone was stuck indoors with no nice garden to sit in or quiet places to exercise, they might claim that they were becoming depressed and this was a valid reason to go for a drive. They could then go to court and challenge the police's action.

Sometimes I think people hide behind rules to avoid using common sense.
