Stuck Behind Lotto Boy at the Cash Today

#2.The check writer.
The "check writer" is like being in a catastrophe. Time stands still, everyone turns to stare not daring to breathe, even the piped in music slows to silence. Then the moment the check is accepted everything gears back up and we are all left a bit dazed but relieved to have survived.

The worst time I ever got stuck behind somebody in the checkout lane was a woman with her kid. She thought it would be cute to have her 3 year old give the clerk the $100 bill. The kid was acting really shy and wouldn't give the clerk the money. After about 5 minutes of coaxing the kid to give the money, the mom tried to get it.
Nope, the kid had the bill crumbled up in his hand and it was his, and he wasn't giving it up. The kid has a snow suit on, so he can squirm around. This goes on for another 5-10 minutes. Then we're back to trying to coax the kid to give the clerk the bill. The kid tosses the crumbled up bill. but nobody saw where it went, so now we're looking all over for it. Finally, it was found-then the clerk got the cash.

I dislike when people use the 8 items or less checkout and have a full cart full and they are allowed to use it. I know it will take a long time, so go the self checkout machine. The self checkout machine will only take a credit card instead of cash. In that case all the other checkout lanes are busy, too. Woe, is me.:(

The young couple at the head of the line at the hotel coffee bar who must have taken three minutes to decide what flavored creamers to put into their coffee, how much additional sugar, get a few stirrers, then get a few napkins, and then actually mix up their drinks, one little container at a time, while everybody else waited. Good grief! Grab a bunch of them and take them with your coffee cups to your table or room. Mix your coffee beverages there.

I was at the pharmacy drive-thru the other day to pick-up a prescription for my daughter. A guy hands in the script and waits in the drive-thru for it to be filled! It took 15 minutes. And, there were two cars ahead of me.

I wasn't knocking Seniors with my opening statements...just inconsiderate people in general.

If you have a big coffee order, don't hold up people in the drive-thru...go inside to order. It's the lack of common sense that irks me sometimes.

Try waiting for a very slow train that gets within eye sight of clearing the way and then stops and goes in reverse as this is the procedure at this particular crossing! My son, bless his heart, says "This is good for developing patience" (He has the patience of Job).

Me, I turn around and take a much longer detour even if it takes me longer than waiting for the train, as I do NOT have the patience of Job!
