Study shows a link between vitamin D and lower virus numbers in northern Europe

This has me wondering if my milk is still fortified with Vitamin D.... That used to be listed on the containers... pondering on my way to the frig! UPDATE: Yes, it is! Another possible factor in my favor - I drink a whole lot of cow juice!

Have found that A , C , D are great. Also something new , still looking into this. Physical activity, not running marathons or anything like that. Just enough physical activities to get the blood moving. I think so it will cleanse itself.
I know activities are great for health etc, but not sure about the blood cleansing. Anyone else hear about this??

Are you referring to actual blood filtration, where they siphon it out, treat it, and replace it - or just about things that are supposedly good for your blood?

I'm a big believer in moving regularly - never sitting for more than an hour at a time. In my prior office, I would watch people spend over 8 hours in their chairs, not even getting up for bathroom runs or coffee (had lunch and drinks at their desks). On the other hand, I purposely got up to file, fax, or just fidget as often as possible.

Looking further into the body's ability to remove toxins, poisons and so on. Without outside help.!! I have been doing precisely what you did at work. Walks, taking the stairs etc.
Now retired I still cut and split fire wood concentrating on using the core muscles. I am amazed at the benefits for me at least. I also do a lot of walking with my dog. One or two hours or what I am comfortable with, 3 to 4 times a week.
My doctor told me that I was way ahead of where I was supposed to be, heart attack and a few other things.

This is good to know! I take Cod Liver Oil often and I have Vitamin D GUMMIES because i hate taking pills. Thank you for posting this!

Hoorah for you! I enjoy digging and transplanting shrubs - great exercise with a purpose. Today, however, it is snowing and I'm a wimp when it is cold. Please keep us informed on your research!

I don't see why there is necessarily a connection between these two things. There could be a third factor that is at play here.

In other words, a life style that includes little exposure to sunshine (longer hours indoors working, etc.) could damage the immune system. So the culprit would be that, rather than the Vitamin D part of it.

Here's another example: Italy has a lower rate of alcoholism than a lot of the northern European countries. This is probably due to the fact that alcohol has been a major factor in Italian culture for millenia, and it's a lot newer in northern Europe. So maybe long-time use of alcohol helps ward off the virus?

From all I've heard about melanoma, I think too much pursuit of sunshine could be a very dangerous thing.

This could also explain why there is a higher death rate among non-white people. Europeans tend to eat more dairy products as well as taking health supplements. So perhaps the combination of calcium and Vitamin D helps to combat the virus?
