Study: Women Prefer Men Without Cats

There is no such thing as a "dumb" animal. What happens is people don't understand why an animal behaves a certain way, so they put a label on it.
A quote from Mark Twain: "It is just like man's vanity and impertinence to call an animal dumb because it is dumb to his dull perceptions."
But didn't that expression originate when the word was slang for not being able to talk?

Well I absolutely love cats because they're a little psychic. I, too, know a man who "tolerates" cats but doesn't really like them. He has a dog. BF has one of each. Personally, I like all animals. It's just me.

But there's nothing in this world so cozy as a bundle of soft fur purring in your lap. (If you're not allergic to them). Nothing. Just nothing. It's a bit of heaven on earth.

I said compared to a cat and I gave an example of innate behaviour. If you call a dog dumb he will wag his tail in approval. There :giggle:are smart dogs and dumb dogs. Same for people.

I personally would not "like" or "not like" a man just based on the fact he had a ....cat. Aren't there alot of other important traits to concentrate on, other that that? Seriously? ..............I love all animals, so that would be an added plus.

A woman I dated for a few months had an insecurity issue. Regardless of how much attention I paid to her, whenever I pet my dog, she'd get angry & look disappointed. A couple of times, she even said, "It's not good to pet your dog every time he wants you to because you're spoiling him & he'll expect attention all the time."
I didn't realize how serious she was until once before we were going out to dinner, I was petting my dog & saying goodbye to him.
She said, "I wonder what would happen if I asked you to choose between me & that dog."
I said, "I'd tell you to wear your seat belt & drive safely."

I was relieved when she stormed out. Saved me the cost of another expensive dinner. (I don't do McD's)
And also taught me how to recognize a deal breaker before buying an engagement ring.....

Not me! I love cats so a man that likes cats would work for me better than one with a dog. I like dogs but like cats more. If I had to choose between the two, a cat would win every time.

I'm an animal lover, so, anything goes. I take antihistamines for my cat allergy when I visit relatives with cats. The only place I'd draw the line, is -- snakes and spiders.

I'm always wary of studies especially those that have no real purpose . Although this study said photos were shown to 'hundreds of women', the actual figure isn't stated. Most studies nowadays provide conclusions based on interviews etc with a small group compared to years ago when a study was a real study. :D I've seen adverts for example that would state 'out of 100 women, 90% loved the product'.
For me, any person who lacks sensitivity towards animals is a no no whether friend or otherwise. Would like to do a study on how many women believe the research!!!!!
