Suggestions how to cover or replace bathroom walltile

What is the best way to brighten up bathroom shower tile, 1. Cement waterproof paint or remove existing shower tile and replace it with shower tile of choice?

Painting is the quick and cheap way but it won't last forever....spoken from experience.
