What a beautiful place you have. It looks so secluded. We have a porch also but just at dinner time we get the full blast from the sun. I envy you all those trees to keep you cool.

Thank you for the compliments. I think the summer/winter differences are really interesting. I designed and built the house myself. It took me 15 months and damned near killed me! Our 1.5 acre lot is in a cul-de-sac, lakefront with a 25' two tier waterfall out back. I agonized over which trees to cut down but ended up leaving more than I had originally planned.

LOL...you could always live here in the UK, we can get summer /winter differences in the same day....
