sunsets

I love sunsets. Some of the best I have ever seen were at sea in the tropics, but Hawaii, coastal California and the high desert country in West Texas can have some spectacular ones as well.
At sea under the right conditions, you will sometimes get to watch the Green Flash just before the sun disappears completely.

Eh, sunsets are nice but I never see any where I live -- I'm surrounded by big hills, no sunrises either.

There's always an upside to everything though: the hills keep the wind out too (unless it comes from the SE which is rare).

On those blustery winter nights I step outside into the stillness, with snow coming straight down, but I can hear the wind blowing over the hill. It sounds like a distant freight train. After 38 winters here I've only seen a handful of snowdrifts, and none were big.

These 3 were taken from my daughters' property a couple of days ago, situated at the top of the mountain in Spain where she lives where there's no light pollution.....
