Suppose you found out you have an unknown identical twin?????

Yup, it's the plot line of a lot of sitcoms- somebody has a identical twin they never knew about. And strangely, when this did happen in real life, the twins lived remarkably similar lives. Say, at the grocery store you ran into an identical twin you never knew you had. Just for the heck of it, suppose you found out you have an unknown identical twin?????

I was born one of a twin.not identical because my twin was a boy. We were born 10 weeks prematurely, and both stillborn. The doctors revived me , I weighed 2pounds 2 oz...but couldn't save my brother.., and I was incubated until the following June

Fast forward 12 years, and in the City evening paper there was an article about a girl with my name , and my picture.. who'd won an award of some type...

She was identical to me, even I had to admit it, and the weird thing was that she had my same first and last name.. My mother pointed it out to me...

We didn't know this girl, at all, she didn't live in our part of the city .. but today with the internet if it happened, I would of course contact her. I wonder if she grew up looking identical to me as a an adult..

Wow @hollydolly I didn't know you had a twin and were born premature. You has struggles from day one.

That's very strange about the other girl.
Remy, I have always said they saved the wrong one, because I was clearly not meant to be here.. as you say struggles from the first breath...

..however what was clearly my role, was to bring my DD into this world... she's everything that I wished I'd been and had.. so I can only be grateful for that at least... 🄰

..yes it was the oddest, oddest thing about the other girl. I got ribbed at school because everybody was convinced that it was me, and wouldn't believe it wasn't...

I'd be curious to find out if it really is nature vs nurture.

We all have a person out there that is similar, a doppelganger.
Maybe they need make up or a nose job but similar is always available.

As long as I retain my title of Known, and my identical twin will maintain his/her title of Unknown, I am perfectly fine with that.

I went to school with my twin. She was one grade behind me. We weren't quite identical, but so close we were always being mistake for each other. Even our names were almost the same, both first and last. Especially last, with one letter difference. I've always been grateful she was also a good student. The oddest thing is we ended up both working for the same company about 10 years after graduation.

I didn't have an identical twin, but there was a guy , who had the same exact name as me, and lived a mile from me. It gets weird after that. We both had the same neurosurgeon, and the same back surgery, and used the same pharmacy. Dr.'s appts. always got screwed up. But 10 years ago, he must have moved.

I think it's both. Researchers have found serial killers have the same 'triad' of symptoms for most serial killers- bed wetting, animal abuse, arson. But the overriding factor is poor parenting.
