Vertical storm line blowing across Missouri. Decided to park my Jeep in a big casino parking structure and hide out with the slot machines. One gust preceding this band almost blew me into another highway lane on my way here. I live on a top floor, 3rd floor apartment ... nowhere to hide there.

Last week northern NJ struggled with high winds, downed trees and power outages BUT one house on my block had a giant oak branch crash through their roof. No injuries. They’ve been in a hotel since, battling the ‘Good Hands’ people.

My grandfather used to say, “It’s so windy I saw a chicken lay the same egg twice.”

It happened to my wife when she was a young woman. The driver
