Surveys

Do answer them?

I get so many that I just delete them.

They always take longer than the suggested time. I filled some out just to get to the end so I could make a comment and there was no option for that.

Samples of some.
A purchase in a store yesterday.
A stop in the bank to make a deposit.
A hotel stay. They questioned my satisfaction in five different ways with every person I encountered.
Bought a new car a few years ago. Were told we had to give perfect scores so Head Office would give them better deals to help us. S that. It was a basic nightmare because of their stupidity. Didn’t respond to the survey because we do have to deal with them for servicing.
Same car company finally gave up asking us to do surveys for oil changes and when we didn’t reply would call. They finally gave up on us.
The list goes on.

not if unsolicited. made a purchase at Big Lots this morning. very pleasant young sales person, he very clearly explained e was a survey on the receipt... something like $1000-1500 prize. then he said, "i'm Chris" and proceeded to scribble his name where even the C was not discernible. i asked the "kid" if he would get something as the person who rwsng up my stuff. then i said... i couldn't possibly know what his name was by looking at signature.

i randomly fill them out. i won $100 gift card i ACME supermarket one time! i know it doesn't take long to spend $100 ob groceries, but that was nice.

I'm hit and miss when it comes to survey's.

Banking survey's... never
Customer Service survey's... almost always
Product survey's... always

Years ago, I was asked to be in consumer survey for the federal government. I don't know how they chose me. At first, when I was asked I thought it was a hoax, or something, but it turned out to be for real. You would make an an appointment, they would call once a month; and it was about 90 minutes of questions. It was rather tedious. It was at least 200+ questions.. I didn't get paid, and at first, it was fun, thinking your opinion really mattered. But these were scientific surveys, which asked the same questions from a lot of different angles. Each time they called it was only on one specific topic. One was about make up, and I'm a guy. One session was about funeral homes. They kept calling me, but I quit. It was just too much time.
I assume they are still doing those surveys today???????

The best survey I did was from a hotel. 8 questions. Basically, did you enjoy your stay, was the bed comfortable, would you return. Less than 30 seconds and I could add a comment if wanted. Loved the survey and the hotel.

I take them every few months with one company and they never ask me for personal info, plus I get paid $25.00 after reaching my alloted points....takes about 15-20 minutes for each.....and the check comes maybe twice a year.
I also did a survey with CVS about their customer service and products....only like 7 or 8 questions....waiting on my free earbuds gift to give to my
gr'daughter which did cost me S&H charge of $4.99....says the product is worth $99....probably not but WTH, lol.....

Wait a minute! We answer a lot of questions on this forum. Our shoe size? Our favorite movies? Our favorite music?
isn't this sort of the same thing?

Thankfully, no one on here has yet asked me how satisfied I am with my shoe size (not at all) or how likely am I (on a scale of 1 to 10) to recommend my favorite movie or music to a friend or family member. On here, the questions seem like friendly interest, whereas the surveys seem annoying and intrusive to me.

Some surveys are cons to try and get your personal information. I try to avoid lengthy surveys, as I've got things and stuff to do. I always do Brewsters surveys as doing so gets me points on their awards program usable towards ice cream... 🧁
