Sweet Potato Or Pumpkin Pie?

Forget politics. This is the real hot topic that's going to start fights at Thanksgiving dinner this year: sweet potato pie or pumpkin pie? A bakery in Mississippi says they're making plenty of both to prevent any families from falling out.

Which one do you prefer?

I like both also but if your taste buds are dreaming it tastes like pumpkin and it's
not, it is a let down (especially to a child )
It's better to inform which is being served and if both... which is which.

I fact, I know of no one who does sweet potato pie for Thanksgiving. If not pumpkin pie, it is another pie and/or pumpkin roll.

I do believe it is mainly a southern thing.

Love both, but am partial to sweet potato pie. I think it's richer tasting than pumpkin. Whipped cream on top, natch!

Why can’t I have both? The gal on TV said I deserve it. And I must admit that since sweet potatoes are available all year around and fresh pumpkins is not, I would go with pumpkin if I had to choose.

I really like home made pecan pie. Not the store bought stuff, but the one my southern grandmother that I never had would have made.

If I have to choose between sweet potato pie and pumpkin pie, it's sweet potato. But I'd much rather share a chocolate cream pie with Rip!

Growing up my mom always made sweet potato pie and that's what I prefer, but haven't had one in years.
