Swingamajig or Sumpthin Like That

Maybe someone can fill us in Devi
It's an era when a gentleman would tip his hat to show respect to the opposite sex, while a lady would dress to the nines.

The most popular mode of public travel was the steam hauled train.

It was an era when people attended church
and always dressed well for the Good Lord.

Dancing was much more a partner affair,
Mind you don't tread on her toes though.

All airs and graces were observed, people made the effort,
no matter what they were doing or where they were going,
getting dressed meant dressing well and being presentable.

It was an era of good music, good taste and good manners.

Thanks, @horseless carriage. Very nice.

So, Jitterbug. Big band music? What do you call this stuff — the music and the dancing?
It was known as The Swing Era, and I made the most embarrassing faux pas when we first got the internet. Back then it was dial up, so the screen was slow to fill. Full of confidence I announced to my wife that I would find us a Swingtime gig to go to. I typed "Swing," into the search box.

How naïve Can you be? Believe you me I can make naïveté a fine art. After typing in Swing I watched with horror as the screen filled up with copulating couples. My lady, bless her, was standing behind me, she took the embarrassment away with an amusing gesture. Putting her hand on my shoulder she bent over almost ninety degrees, then she smiled and said: "See, I told you that position was possible!" I had to laugh but I have never forgotten the ambiguity between Swing as in Swingers and Swing as in Swingtime. Dear oh dear, I'm colouring up just reminiscing it.
