Synchronicity. Do you believe in it?

There are millions of successful & wealthy a-holes out there, but are they happy in life? My experiences say most are not. Sure there are always exceptions to any rule, but when people treat other people poorly it usually comes back on them in other ways. Peace of mind is a beautiful thing.

Yeah, that's my point. The "them" I was referring to were "the happy and successful a-holes" that you mentioned. I know happy and successful people who are also a-holes. At least they APPEAR to be happy. I can't just their insides, just what they convey on the outside. There are nasty people in every walk of life, in every economic situation, in every social strata. Being wealthy, or poor, or anything in between is no guarantee of happiness because happiness comes from the inside, from WHO you are rather than WHAT you own.

If you don't know someone personally, then it's impossible to determine if they are truly happy or not. Appearances mean nothing.

Just because you know someone personally doesn’t mean you have a clue what’s actually going on in their lives. Outward appearances are often no indication at all of what’s actually happening. I know that personally, because I left a life of abuse, apathy, and depression for many years and nobody had a clue. I also know that from hearing other abused people’s stories about their lives, And also from having friends open up to me about some misery in their lives.... a cheating spouse, financial troubles, addicted or self harming children, etc. People whose lives I thought were good, until I heard the stories. You just never know.

All true. Sorry to hear of your past troubles.

So many variables can go into one's opinion of another person, I rarely take someone else's word of how good or bad someone is. I will keep in mind what opinions have been said if I value them, but I usually wait to actually meet the person so I can find out for myself. I've found that far too many people get a bad rap simply by word of mouth.

Karma or payback for me doesn't always have to be an obvious kick in someone's arse. I like to look at the whole picture of one's life. I don't know too many happy and successful a-holes. Most a-holes I know live a less than desirable life and are always facing problems of some sort, usually of their own making. For me, that's my Karma. Although it is always nice to see an a-hole get a well deserved kick in the arse.

That's just the trouble; the hateful individuals I know who have brought misery to others just seem to keep on truckin'. (I suppose I want to see them get that kick. Sigh.)

I believe that humans tend to look for reasons, signs, and explanations to everything that they encounter in life.

If we concentrate we will usually find something in the way of a sign or an explanation that satisfies us, then we can accept our situation and move on.

Interesting. Einstein believed the universe is becoming more random, but he also uncovered the fourth dimension which is time. So what if some people have a sort of precognition about future events that have nothing to do with logic?
