We found out several years ago that the chimney was pulling away from the house and there was very little holding it on.

Bad news. Had to be removed and rebuilt. Expensive.

We bought an old house, built in the late 1800s. It had 5 chimneys, we took them all out. Found a guy who repaired old masonry who wanted the bricks. It was a mess.

No fireplaces, each room had its own wood stove and chimney. The stoves were long gone and chimneys dangerous to use when we got it. Glad they are gone!

Judging by the picture sequence, I was thinking you did it to improve the view from the top of the roof. And it is a beautiful view.
