Taken to the hospital

I can understand why some people are upset and out to vilify the hospital. What we don’t know is why the medical professionals are holding back – they must have a good medical reason so let’s just take a step back. Just off the top of my head, I know opioids can slow your breathing – not good for a person who is already weak.
There's a good medical reason for letting a patient scream in pain for a day?

As for opioids, I know they can be addictive if used long enough and have side effects as all drugs do, but they are highly recommended after surgery, for extreme pain, and for infections. They were given to me after a very long surgery when I was quite weak. I was grateful to get them.

@Della - you, of course, are entitled to draw your own conclusions.. Any doctor will see that pain is managed effectively and at the same time has to take into consideration any potential for harm from certain medications. I won’t elaborate further as this is up to the doctor providing the care. Hopefully, all will right itself so the healing can progress.

My Ortho. doctor told me 'it's risky' for Surgery when I fractured the heel of my right foot
because of old age.
Once getting old age, it's pretty common to get some adverse reaction to any Surgery, so he instead made 'cast' to heel my right foot. Now, almost 2 and a half month, I can walk, but not like prior to injury of my right foot. Wait to see how the things going on, until Spring, even this Summer. If not, I can live with that, staying home.
Hope get well soon and keep Update!!!:)
