Taking a trip out of Perth today

Travelling to Moora, 175km north of Perth.
First stop was Bindoon, 80km from Perth, 1km before entering Bindoon, random breath test stop.
Now comfortably ensconced in the Bindoon Bakehouse with a meat pasty and a coffee.
Travelling on the Great Northern Highway and will turn onto the Bindoon - Moora Hwy, 5 km out of Bindoon.
Staying overnight at the Junction Hotel.

You have been great at posting pic of wild life & nature in general. Any chance you could capture some of your trip as you travel? Those various names seem exotic to me what are they based on?

I google this but I think if you give your insight into what you experience that would be more interesting.

There is always wildlife to see but difficult to photograph because being on a single lane highway, travelling at 110kmh, almost always cars behind me, wanting me to go faster, impossible to stop and get that photo of the 6 emus I saw. To safely stop would require at least a kilometer, that is if I can find a place to pull off the highway, then do a u-turn, go back to where the emus were, hope they are still there and then get the photo. Very time consuming.
I get those kinds of photos usually when there are no cars behind me so I can pull off without stress.
Hopefully I will get some photos at Moora.
I used to drive through Bindoon weekly to get to my place of work out at New Norcia. Glad I gave that job away. 12 hour night shifts driving a forklift, loading 600kg hay bales into 40' sea containers for export.

Bindoon - Aboriginal name thought to mean "Place where yams grow"

I came to Moora to see what has happened in regard to the Carnaby Cockatoos sculpture.

Having previously emailed the council twice and not receiving a response, nothing on the internet about the sculptures, bar 2 year old stories, I decided to take a run up here and ask the council in person.
Never had to go to the council, I asked a local on the progress of said sculptures and told her about me emailing council and receiving no response.
Her reply was" That doesn’t surprise me, the council want nothing to do with the sculpture. The sculpture is actually finished but is languishing in Brisbane, Queensland, (4,300 km away) where it was made and there does not appear to be a plan to get it over here."
Tomorrow I will take a run up to Carnamah to see the giant Tractor. 120km up the road.
The tractor is 11.5 metres high, and 16 metres long, was constructed using 42 tonnes of steel by DIAB Engineering in Geraldton.
