Tall buildings....

I think the Eiffel tower was the highest at 300 plus metres ( approx 984 feet) ... I'm scared of heights so that was quite a feat for me, I couldn't go up the huge tall buildings they have in Dubai or Japan, or the USA

The Empire State Building for me, too, at 1,453 feet high. However my most memorable ascent into a high structure was the South Tower of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, Austria. I decided to do the climb as a challenge to myself. The Tower is 446 feet tall and to climb up the narrow stone spiral staircase takes 343 steps. Once I started up I wasn't sure that I could make it because of claustrophobia and just the physical challenge of it. The way up was also the way down. When people going up and coming down met, we had to squeeze ourselves against the walls. When I was quite a bit of the way up, I heard music, and I thought there must be some video or sometime being shown up there.

When I finally reached the top and ended up in basically what was a souvenir shop there was no music or videos, so I still don't know where that came from. Anyway, the view through the windows up there was fantastic. And somehow I made my way down again. I was only 51 at the time. I don't know if I could make it now. But if I ever made it back to Vienna, I would give it a try.

Not really a tall building but a fire tower in the Adirondacks.

It was only about six stories but the lack of a substantial structure made it scary enough for me.

The World Trade Center, took the express elevator which left my stomach in the lobby.
Didn't go to the 105th,my hubby was friends with the superintendent.

The I.G. Farbin building in Frankfurt, Germany.

It's elevators have no doors. They travel slowly and don't stop.

You simply step in and step off. Kinda neat.

I'm not sure, but there must be SOME provision to stop the whole system until wheel-chairs can be safely settled in.

I've never been on one when a wheelchair was involved.
