Taste in Music is very telling

There is some young lady on tv AD right now that
is "singing" a commercial I think is for chicken, I cannot
understand a word of her song except the last word "chicken" LOLOLOL.......

In the cemetery where my Dad is buried, there is a Veteran’s section. Every Memorial Day, the cemetery puts on a revered service and allows ministers from other faiths to give a 2-minute prayer, which most of them run longer. My Dad was Episcopalian, so when Father Kemp was there, he would pray over my Dad’s grave. With the new Priests that have come and gone, some may come out and some will send a Deacon. It’s really nice that the cemetery does this. Each grave of a Veteran gets a flag. My wife and I decorate my Dad’s grave before the weekend.

I have also gone down to Arlington a few times. If you can get into the Amphitheater, you will see a nice military remembrance from the services represented at that time. The Marines put on a nice service, but the Navy band is hard to beat. While we are on subject of services, I would like to remind anyone that is considering a visit to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to please follow the guidelines listed online or at the sight. At no time should anyone attempt to cross the rope. Do Not break any of the rules. You will be embarrassed by the guards.
Observing the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns is amazing. The silence broken only by the guards steps in precise cadence, along with the absolute reverence and respect is so justly deserved. I felt similarly at the USS Arizona Memorial. After all 80+ years since the invasion at Pearl Harbor an oil slick is still visible in the water above the vessel.

Give me bagpipes any day. There is nothing more stirring.

I went to the funeral of a fire chief last year and when the pipes led the firetruck carrying his casket, I bawled like a baby and I had never met the guy (relative of a friend).

Here's my favorite song, The Parting Glass by the High Kings, complete with bagpipes toward the end.

I've loved bagpipes and all things Scottish, since I was a little girl.

Am not a person at home that has ever had music regularly playing in the background like radio, as I think more clearly when am in quiet. Will play FM radio in my car on the road. Out in public can enjoy or at least tolerate listening to most music. So I enjoy most genres of music but not enough to go out of my way to listen to that is mainly just Classic Rock. Most all my 200+ music numbers on my MP3 players are Classic Rock and as a long time SFBA resident have enjoyed a lifetime of live rock concerts.

The kind of music a person likes is often reflected in the types of rec drugs they use with dominant alcohol especially so. That noted, strongly dislike Disco, and dislike Gangster Rap, Thrash or Death Metal, 80s Punk. I find most DJ and Electronic Dance and their dancing styes boring as an adult, never ever a rave ecstasy drug user nor rec drug pill/powder user.
