I've heard this phase since my early teens.
Such and such taste like chicken.
You have heard the list: Frog, Alligator, Rabbit, Quail, Rattlesnake, etc.
Growing up in a Southern family, I've tasted all of the above and NO they do not taste like Chicken.
Chicken taste like Chicken.

I do not like the taste of chicken no matter how you cook it. Fried, baked, broiled or any other way.
As you can imagine growing up in a Southern family where chicken was a staple, I nearly staved to death.
My mom would try and hide chicken in casseroles or tell me it was turkey, ( which I LOVE ).

According to some experts, Genes play a big part in what taste we enjoy and what taste we really dislike.
I can't remember ever seeing my Dad eat or enjoy chicken.

A person once mentioned that he had never met anyone who didn't like chicken.
Got me thinking maybe he was right. Neither have I.

Lots of people dislike certain foods but I have never come across anyone else who dislikes chicken.
( extra points if you are thinking he's written CHICKEN over 10 times. )

Am I alone in this? ( the thread about KFC caused this )

I do respect your aversion to chicken.

Myself, I love to eat chicken. I've never known anyone who disliked chicken.

This is only a guess but, I think people liken the taste of reptiles to chicken because chickens evolved from reptiles. Does this make any sense?

I've only come across one person who didn't like chicken .. a member of a club I belonged to, decades ago. She always complained that the dinners we had usually served chicken.
