Tastebuds Fading?

I follow restaurant reviews and go to the ones folks rave about but I am usually disappointed because the food is tasteless. I am not saying it tastes bad but only tasteless. Bummer.

My o/h has the same problem.. he won't go and see a doctor tho'. he says everything, regardless of where we eat or what I cook tastes the same, just bland!! He's also lost his sense of smell

My tastebuds work very well and I love to try new foods every chance I am given.

Is OP taking meds that could alter the "buds".

No and I am thinking it could be the restaurants just aren't seasoning their food because my sense of smell is still very strong and I can still enjoy home cooking.

These last few years my hubby has lost much of his sense of taste also. There are pros and cons to this. I can throw anything in front of him and he will eat it but if I slave over making a new dish and ask him what he thinks his response is that it is edible.
I love to try new foods. The only thing I've found is that things taste more salty than they use to. Probably because I've cut way back on adding it to foods I prepare.

Do you eat because it's time to eat or do you eat because you are hungry? If you are hungry all food tastes good.

If you are eating just because it's the time then all food tastes blah.

I don't go by the clock anymore.

We have always eaten on a schedule. 8 to 8:30 AM, 12 noon, and 5 to 5:30 pm. snack around 8 pm. When the kids were here it varied from the times now but we always sat down as a family every night for dinner. TV was off and no phone calls were answered during that time.
