It's all interesting information posted by multiple posters above, about the words.
At the same time, we don't hold to technical rules of any sort in our games, that are more for the fun of those who choose to play them.
I found it interesting to hear about, and be reminded of, the old joke that was definitely told, when I was younger too, and I'd forgotten about that. (about G. Washington)
And the info about the word, hack, was interesting.
Jokesters, and many riddle-writers, were not worried about 'stretches' back then, and most of us aren't either, though I found it interesting to hear about that term, too.
Slang is sometimes funny, too, even though would not be grammatically correct. Such as, I might say: I don't know how to do the job, but I continue to hack away at it. Or, "I can't hack it."
And everyone knows what I mean.
It doesn't matter to me, here , if someone guesses the one she has, or not and she ends up giving it to us; it's just fun to play it, and to read the responses. Some are clever, and many divergent ones, make me laugh.
Even all the posters' 'stretches' are fine with me, here. If it's humorous to any of us, that's welcome, and fit into the goal of having some fun, in the games and humor sections.
