Teacher Who Molested Then Married Student Has Died of Cancer

Vili Fualaau was 12 years old when she molested him then had his baby. Mary Kay Letourneau was 34, married and had four children of her own. Sometime after she served jail time, they eventually got married and had another child. This woman must have been dumb as dirt. Not only did she molest the child, she got pregnant...in this day and age of easy birth control. This was her lame excuse for cheating on her husband with a minor child:
“If someone had told me, if anyone had told me, there is a specific law that says this is a crime,” she told Australian TV in 2018. “I did not know. I’ve said this over and over again. Had I known, if anyone knows my personality. Just the idea, this would count as a crime.” Seriously??!!

Her lawyer had the nerve to say "She was a good person"!! Good people do not molest your underage children! Sorry.

I saw that this morning. Wouldn't wish cancer on anyone, and she has children she's left behind including 2 by the boy she was imprisoned for molesting..and who she ultimately married then divorced. What she did was horrendous.. she took the life of a child basically, took advantage of a young boy who had no parental support or proper home life .. and denied knowing it was a crime..I remember that case from way back in the day.

All that said, I'm sorry she suffered and died from a cancer related disease. May she R.I.P

It was jaw-dropping when she was forbidden to see him, then got caught in a car with steamed windows 🙄 and had to go to prison for 7 yrs.

Mary says that the afraid started because Vili was very persistent. 🙄 btw they were never divorced, but legally separated about a year ago.

Interesting that her father's political career ended when it was revealed he fathered two children by a mistress...a former student of his. 🤔

I seen the article about her and Vili on a Australian current affairs program called (Sunday night )


They we’re being interviewed / questioned on the state of their relationship which she said was good but his facial expressions were telling another story , so the reporters took him aside to give his side of the story which was vastly different to what she stated ,

not sure when it was I’m guessing about 2 years ago

12? I thought he was 14 or 15. Still not legal.
She was a very devoted teacher who would do anything to encourage her student to stay in school and keep his......,,,,,grades up.

I don't think she was evil, I think she was severely deranged.
 
Also: She served 7 years because she violated her parole.

But what would the jail term be for a 34 year old man who did this to a 12 year-old girl? Twenty years to life, I would imagine. Double standards at work?
 
There is no way in h-e-double-hockey-sticks that a teacher or anyone who works with kids wouldn't know it was illegal to have sex with an underage student. This is the hallmark of a narcissistic predator: gaslight their victims, accept no responsibility when caught, and then try to manipulate for sympathy and claim themselves as the victim.

Her kids are better off without her.
 
Other people may disagree, but I don't think age should be the factor, it should be against the law even if a student is legal-aged. Teachers should adhere to their roles as educators, not get into anything personal with students.
 
I feel sorry for the 4 kids she had with her 1st husband,hope they weren't emotionally tramatized by what their mother did to them. The 2 daughters she had with Vili can move on as well

@moviequeen1 I don't know how any of her children could have possibly escaped being traumatized.
 
Are we forgetting something? The French President married his school teacher, and they have had a long and happy marriage. Don't tar everyone with the same brush.

What's that got to do with this post? Was he only 12 when they got together? Who else was cited in this thread (to be "painted with the same brush")?
