Teachers we loved and will always remember

I remember at infant school a pretty lady teacher who all of us loved so much that we lined up at the end of each school day to kiss her. Remember putting our little chairs up onto our desks? That made it easier for the cleaners.

Certain teachers remain prominent in my memory because they were especially inspiring and interested in each child's hopes and dreams. They gave a vitality to the school day. I think my life from aged about 5 to 11 were the happiest of my life. So much to learn, so many friends and I went to a very happy school.

In secondary school later, I valued the teachers who awoke in me a lifelong love of history and literature. That hunger to learn has never left me.

At the times I ever bumped into former teachers, I still addressed them as Mr or Mrs, always to be addressed with respect.
If I had had a different life I would have liked to be a teacher. I think it must be one of the most important worthwhile of professions.

Not similar for me. The two who influenced me the most were definitely not loved. They were both shallow, stupid, and should never have gone into the teaching profession. My experiences with them did a lot of damage but they did teach me some hard truths about life.

Two great teachers were Miss W in the fourth grade and Mrs. B in the sixth. Miss W inspired my life-long love of reading. Mrs. B instilled great confidence in my own learning abilities and inspired my life-long love of learning.

Mr G loved music and this was a life long love for me , he introduced us to classical music , each morning in assembly he would play a short piece and we had to name that piece and composer .
Then he made a Choir and we went on to sing and win in School competitions .
He recently died at the age of 92, I wrote what an excellent Teacher he was ,

Then there was Miss R , who intrduced Scottish Dancing and we went on Competitions .
I remember after School club , she allowed a Bagpipe Player, play for us and we even had the crossed Swords on the floor to dance over and round , And from then on I loved dancing and this Teacher , both brought into my life happiness and joy , which i was not getting at home .

I remember the Head Teachers ,and wanting to be a monitor , because they made Tea for the teachers at break times , an important job ,
One day i got to be a monitor for the Head Master , and he smoked a Pipe and needed Tobacca which he had ran out of. He sent me out to the Tobacconist up the Road from the School , I was allowed to go out the front entrance which was never ever used by Pupils .I really did think I had made it to the top ranks of the pupils at this tender age of 10 .

I vividly recall a lady high school teacher that was so attractive and personable that I had a crush on her. I'm sure some other boys did too.

As a senior student I was allowed an elective course, so I took drama. Mr. Meyer was the teacher. He was very knowledgeable about theater, and taught us a lot, and everyone loved the man. He directed us in several school plays, and had us each write a play. He even had us over to his apartment for a social. Years later I realized that he was likely homosexual, but he never came onto any of the males. None of us knew anything about any of that stuff in those days (1962).

My first grade teacher who called us angels and was so sweet and nice. Some teachers in high school were mean and I remember them, too.
