Technology is annihilating the beauty of landmark buildings.

There are building, neighborhoods, towns etc where the rule or code is no attachments ie ment for shown satellite dishes. If you phone/fiber or cable they don't even want a line in the air running the poles attached to a hook on the building they want it buried.

That being said a building owner can charge rent for a company place their equipment on their building for cell service. I lived in areas with poor cell service and local neighborhood fought the companies and property owners from placing dishes, antenna's etc on them.

But yes a satellite dishes is something the original architect never envisioned as did those who get see those old buildings with regularity.

There are plenty of option not to use historic buildings as base for something a few want.

I don’t believe that it’s a requirement, more like a poor but possibly lucrative choice.

Many communities are opting for the use of ‘stealth’ towers that attempt to disguise similar equipment.
