Yes.Televangelists and their great wealth.
I understand.I am a Christian
I don't blame you.but I have never sent donations to any such preachers, wouldn't dream of doing it.
Understandable.Apart from donating to collection plates at church, I do not do it. I never even buy their books unless they are in very cheap offer in kindle.
I also wonder.I wonder why so many people do give sizable sums to these mega wealthy preachers?
As a Christian you ought to understand the basis of it. FAITH. Believeing in blessings ought to be clear to you.Swallowing their myths about how anything they give will be returned as many blessings. It troubles me that poor people are encouraged to part with their scant resources.
I certainly do not want to get into a debate over it but if you are a believer in XXX shouldn't believing in your Church and those who represent it be natural? I am only trying to understand it from the donator's point of view. Their point of view is baked into your OP. That is to say, why do they do it? We know the answer: because they have faith in whatever it is that they are being told/taught.Anyway, they will never get a penny from me! No matter how good their preaching and teachings.
Yes. The answer is probably there.Read up a bit on absolution and the Catholic Church.
You only need a few who stand up in order to get a full-house standing ovation. I think we can say that there is a large possibility of those few being coerced in one way or another. Göbbels knew it. Rock musicians on tour are the most obvious, "Put your hands together!" and the majorty of YouTubers employ similar tactics, "Before I begin, be sure to smash that like button and don't forget to comment below!"There is a, cough, 'Christion' program on T V that is so nutty. The so-called preacher stresses how blessed you'll be if you send in $1000! to spread his "God's Word" and you'll receive some kind of blessing. It blows my mind to see so many in his audience whoopty-doing in agreeament with him.
