this brings to mind my landlords kids who've been managing the place while he is in Korea. They traded their gas-guzzling 4x4 for a little economy car, can't think of the name now, but they have had it in the shop 5 times at least. I feel the car-lot "glued" it together with elmer's and sent then off in a pile of crap
They didn't have much of a choice, as I understand it, but there should be something to protect people from this "as is". The only consolation I have is that I believe as you do unto someone else, it will be done unto you, you freakin jerks at the car-lot!!
I suppose the answer is, don't buy anything that says "as is" on it.

Oh but wait, our own folks that have been living in the US all their lives, paying taxes, can't get a decent car when they need one. But hey, we need to allow other countries to move on in because they can't make didly out of their own country. I'm just sayin, oh yeah, help everyone else before we take care of our own? Doesn't seem like the "family" way to me.
