I have to disagree with My Favorite Martian being on the list.
Trekkies will remember Ray Walston playing the part of Boothby the wise old gardener at Starfleet Academy. There was a reason for that choice.

Diahann Carroll was truly a trailblazer in TV, starring in a series about a widowed black mother. She was also in many movies but later made her mark in Dynasty as Dominique Deveraux. What a beautiful, talented, elegant lady. RIP.
