Terrorist attack in Moscow, mass casualties at concert venue

One thought is the suspects already rounded up had better have extremely high pain thresholds! Otherwise this is appalling and I have no idea why anyone would do this.

Say what you will about Russia... their police don't mess around....

4 Suspects arrested.... already
They were Makhmadrasul Nasridinov, 37, Rivozhidin Ismonov, 51, Shohinjonn Safolzoda, 21 and Rustam Nazarov, 29.

Russian FSB security service officers were 'working with' the suspects who were detained. 'They are being checked for involvement in the terrorist attack,' reported Baza.

Telegram channel VChK-OGPU said earlier that one detainee from Tajikistan had named three others who he was with in a car.

'These are also natives of Tajikistan. They managed to hide in the forest.

'Now that it is light, an active search is underway for them.

I wish our Police were on the ball like these... instead we have children dressed in a uniform, and woke Idiots...

Tell me the government of any country which is not lying ...

Come now, The Russian government is in effect a dictatorship that is selling a doctrine to enrich those in control. When we're talking about governments lying, there are few worse.

How is this any different from what other nations would do? And what, precisely, makes our Police "woke idiots"?

Trying to retaliate against ISIS is going to be hard, as the organization is widely dispersed across many nations. My first thought was the actors could be Chechans, or Georgians, or any number of the former USSR colonies who have attacked Moscow in the past.

The Ukrainians have used attack drones and low altitude cruise missiles against Russian targets that were military in nature, such as oil refineries, electrical generation plants and Russian navy ships in the Black Sea. This attack against ordinary Russian citizens does not make sense as a Ukrainian military operation. The Ukrainians are much more likely to attack Russian infrastructure targets, than a dance hall full of young people. Jimb.

of course they may blame the wrong nation who did it deliberately - they lie a lot?
NYT- "President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia laid the groundwork on Saturday for blaming Ukraine for the Moscow concert hall attack. And in making his first remarks on the assault more than 19 hours after it began, he pledged to punish the perpetrators, “whoever they may be, whoever may have sent them.”

Mr. Putin, in a five-minute televised address, claimed that someone in Ukraine had tried to help the attackers escape across the border from Russia before they were apprehended by Russian security services."

Yes, this attack is much more like the Hamas attack on Israel, aimed at defenseless civilians. I doubt of Russia will pull any punches going after who did this.

Russia is pinning it on Ukraine. As for it being like Hamas, of course it is. It is the same rabid people

Reading some stuff that's where the suspects were headed or near when caught. It would explain how they could smuggle weapons into the country especially near the border/war zone once deeper in Russia they hide them.

A Hamas Oct 7 style attack is coming to the west somewhere. And they're probably not done in Russia.

Isn't Syria was considered the home of ISIS. Russia has had a presence there and might have enough resources there to extract some kind of revenge.

ISIS doesn't really have a home. It is stateless, I think.
It does seem to be more of a movement at times. I thought several years ago that's where a lot of those hostage videos came from including a woman who converted to Islam but wanted out or something.

Probably best to say a strong presence there even if the ideology.

This is the moment the gunmen suspected of carrying out an attack on a concert hall in Moscow are arrested by Russian authorities.

Videos shared online show three different men, who Moscow claims were responsible for the attack at the Crocus City Hall on Friday, allegedly being detained by a group of soldiers.

One of the suspects is seen shaking on his knees, with his hands bound behind his back, apparently confessing to carrying out the massacre, which left more than 140 people dead.

He was reportedly filmed while being held in the Bryansk region after he was found hiding in a tree while trying to flee to Ukraine, which has vehemently denied any role in the bloodbath.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the massacre, which they have said came 'within the context of a raging war between the Islamic State and countries fighting Islam'.

Looks like they've had a bit of a beating already...

A video shows one of the suspects apparently confessing as he is kneeling with his hands bound behind his back.

He is quizzed: 'Exactly what was offered?', to which he replies: 'To do these things for money'.

The interrogation continues: 'Which things? What exactly?'. He replies: 'These things, to kill.'

A soldier then asks: 'To kill who?'. He responds: 'They sent the location [on the Telegram messenger].'

The man goes on to say that he was told to walk into the venue and kill anyone, no matter who they were.

He said he had flown from Turkey on March 4 and had received instructions from unknown people via Telegram to carry out the attack in exchange for a one million roubles [£8,600].

He claimed he had followed a presumably Muslim 'preacher' on Telegram. He gave his name as Fariduni Shamsidin.

He said: 'I listened to lessons, studied on Telegram. The preacher's assistant suggested killing people, and promised me a million rubles.'

He claimed not to know the name of the preacher of his assistant who had ordered the killings.

Well, it's happening in Palestine right now, but people pick sides and make excuses for it.

What is strange about this case in Russia is that the American's knew something was likely to happen, and they issued a warning to US citizens in the country days before. Why did the Russians not know about the likelihood, and take action?

Oh, and you know Putin is lying when he moves his lips. I mean seriously people, the guy is a disaster. His country is at war, and it's of his doing.
