Well, I think he learned a valuable lesson about getting too involved in politics. It's a good way to make a lot of enemies fast. However, now that he is backing away, I wouldn't underestimate him. Everyone is business is going to make some mistakes. I'm not fan of his, but I will have to give him credit for his creative genius.

There have been other pots of gold for Mr. Musk.

This from Uncle AI:
"Elon Musk made his fortune through a combination of strategic investments and high-risk ventures. His initial wealth was largely generated from his involvement in the dot-com boom, specifically through the sale of his company Zip2 to Compaq for $307 million in 1999.56 This success allowed him to co-found X.com, which later became PayPal, and was sold to eBay for $1.5 billion in 2002.56

Musk then used the proceeds from PayPal to invest in SpaceX in 2002 and Tesla in 2004.56 SpaceX, which focuses on space exploration and rocket technology, and Tesla, which is a leading manufacturer of electric vehicles, have seen significant growth and valuation increases over the years.456 As of March 2025, Forbes estimates Musk's net worth to be around $345 billion, primarily due to his ownership stakes in SpaceX and Tesla.45

In addition to SpaceX and Tesla, Musk also acquired Twitter (later renamed X) in 2022 for $44 billion, although the company's value has since decreased.4 He is also the founder of Neuralink and xAI, both of which have received substantial private investments.45

Musk's wealth is highly volatile, fluctuating based on the stock market performance of Tesla and SpaceX.35 His earnings are not from traditional salaries but from stock options and ownership stakes in his companies.35 For instance, in 2021, Musk earned an estimated $36 billion in a single day due to Tesla's stock performance.35

His financial success has made him one of the most influential figures in the tech and space industries, and his involvement in politics and advisory roles has also been a topic of discussion."

So Tesla was only a part of it my friends

He doesn't "come up with" anything... he takes over other people's business/ideas.
If it was so easy to do that many of us would be billionaires

It is very hard take other people’s ideas and concepts and make them extremely successful.

most who try fail at it .
it is the same reason ceo‘s get paid what they do .

the number of people who can run a multi billion dollar company are minuscule… they make brain surgeons look like a dime a dozen .

its why the same ceo’s circulate from corporation to corporation

my son bought a tesla plaid , his yo p en d vehicle .

2 weeks after he bought it tesla dropped the price 35k. .

what a horrible thing to do to your customers , and they told him sorry , nothing we can do.

the interior is pretty crappy quality compared to my lexus hybrid
I've sat in both, but I don't pay much attention to interiors. Compared to what I grew up with, the worst interiors of today all seem splendid and regal. I'm all for electric cars, but I'm not ready for one yet.

Edit. I do remember when I sat in that Tesla and admiring the interior that it could be described as straight forward. Not fancy, but clean.

That is like going to Waffle House asking for the dollar egg surcharge from last week back because eggs are cheaper now.

poor analogy when it comes to a 35k price reduction so the car could fit under the tax laws for a credit price wise

my son will never buy another tesla again because of how he devalued the car and he has a tesla y too .

Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, made all his money on selling Tesla electric cars. They also can be robotic. Now Tesla's sales are plunging and his net worth is plunging with them. I think of the old saying: "easy come, easy gone!"
Still with billions at his disposal I don't think he will be starting a Go Fund Me website

from 7 days ago.

Elon Musk is the world’s wealthiest person and could become the world’s first trillionaire. Here’s what he’s worth in 2025, despite the financial setbacks he's run into.

Elon Musk is the world’s wealthiest person. His massive net worth is built largely on his stake in Tesla, and he has other companies with significant valuation in tow. He’s slowly moving toward becoming the world’s first trillionaire but has suffered setbacks along the way.

What is Elon Musk’s net worth?
Elon R. Musk has a net worth of $294 billion, according to Bloomberg, as of mid-April 2025. TheStreet puts Musk’s net worth at about $250 billion. Musk is so wealthy that his net worth exceeds that of the second-richest person, Amazon (AMZN) founder Jeff Bezos, by almost $100 billion.

Really have to hate a man that has no reason to help dig into the fraud & waste that has been going on for so long.

A lot of Musk haters here. I'm not one of them.

But I would never buy a Tesla.
