It is just time for me to vent
all those little things
that make our day
a little less
enjoyable.

My list:
1) The drought we're in (again...sigh).
2) The number of the poor animals that we human animals have driven or are driving to extinction.
3) The fact that the Great Barrier Reef is now officially dead (and I ain't feeling too good myself).
4) Lawyers, bankers (not tellers or bank security guards; they're ok), and insane family members.

I am thankful, though, for netflix and our local library. I'll try to think of more later. (Although trying to do that "count your blessings or what you're grateful for" thing has always come back to bite me in the a$$; for instance, a family member whom I thought had finally become human and I was so grateful for that went ballistic again...what I get for relaxing...sigh.)

The pandemic and how it really, really affected our summer and still is this winter. We moved back to Colorado to do certain things that we haven't been able to do and most were cancelled. Am thankful that local state park/lake was open for boating/fishing.

Well since this began with Facebook, I'll add my pet peeve that even though it's widely known to do sleazy things like sell personal information, lie and say they wont anymore, then keep on doing it, still people belong to it. Half my family and friends belong to it, and all the local churches and non-profit organizations seem to belong to it, so that I can't get any information from those places -- because I don't belong to the thing. Why should I have to join Facebook to find out what time my church is having a service? Is Mark Zukerberg our ruler now?

Spinning off from Facebook I'm disappointed that people in general have allowed advertisers to convince us that we must have all sorts of electronic devices we really don't need. I still don't have a cell phone and I'm glad I don't have to carry such a thing around all day so that I can be easily interrupted no matter what I'm doing or where I am. I don't have WiFi or Alexis or a Roku, or a dozen different ways to watch the really bad movies Hollywood is making for us.

I don't know what a "redux" is. The dictionary said it was a bringing back, like the Roman Goddess Fortuna. Well, not being a Roman Goddess, I guess I'm not thankful there isn't enough time, or space to write down all the stuff I'm not thankful for.

I only have two things that I am more than willing to do without. Politicians and Coronavirus.
Thankful for God, Country, Family, necessities for life (house, food, etc.) Everything else is a bonus.

2020. Period. I've never felt so helpless and fatigued in my entire life and there is nowhere to run to, to escape it. I don't believe 2021 will be any better in the U.S. where I am stuck. I hate everything because I'm so tired and this is so unlike me. I don't recognize myself anymore. 😟

My heart goes out to you, chic. I mostly feel the same way; in my case, though, I was starting to feel that way already before Corona; I would like to--and I strongly think that we need to--downsize out of our too-big-anymore for us house and into a friendlier neighborhood--people here aren't intentionally unfriendly; they're just all still working & have no time--but my huzz refuses; says he'll have to be carried out of here feet-first.

But! (There's usually a silver lining, right? 😜 Yeah, right!) For about the last year, I've been talking to a lot of people around here & found out that any kind of senior-living place (55+ communities, Independent Living, etc.) that I used to think I'd love to live in because of lots of activities & therefore socializing? People have told me that even quite a while before the Corona, that the activities & socializing at those places have just about disappeared. Lot of reasons why, maybe; one person said another gal who lived in her seniors' apt. complex said to her when turning her down to go get coffee, etc., "I moved here to get away from people & not HAVE to socialize!" My niece-in-law used to be an activities director at those kind of places--from medium-priced to top-of-the-line--and got burned out; she said that her job was basically to try to cheer up people who were in a place that they didn't want to be; what would make most of them happy was if they were in the prime of life again and back living in their big suburban house or fancy apt. or condo.

So turns out there's no point in trying to talk my huzz into moving; I guess we'll just hunker down where we are.

If you don't have WiFi then how is it you're on here with us?
