Thanksgiving - wishes, images, humor, quotes etc...

Unfortunately, Thanksgiving is pretty much the forgotten holiday once Hallowe'en is over. Then Christmas takes over.

We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing;
He chastens and hastens His will to make known;
The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing;
Sing praises to His Name; He forgets not His own.

Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining,
Ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine;
So from the beginning the fight we were winning;
Thou, Lord, were at our side, all glory be Thine!

We all do extol Thee, Thou Leader triumphant,
And pray that Thou still our Defender will be;
Let Thy congregation escape tribulation;
Thy Name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!

Yes, this is a shame. We need to recognize what we are thankful for nowadays. Not about the drama that the holiday brings to some.

I remember as a kid in school we would trace our hands on paper to make a turkey. Then write things we were thankful for on the turkey.
I think I will do that. It doesn't cost anything but a piece of paper and a pencil/pen/marker.
(This one has been colored in, but you get the idea.)

I'm thankful that Thanksgiving isn't commercialized like the other holidays!

We can enjoy being thankful and grateful for what we have.
