I never liked flying into DFW during the summer. DFW was subject to many afternoon and later afternoon thunderstorms, which are fairly severe. I arrived there a day after a Delta jet L-1011 crashed on the runway while landing during a thunderstorm and under a microburst.
After that crash, all passenger jets were equipped with a microburst warning.
I think I could mention at least 25 or maybe more of the airlines that land there without cheating. American Airlines has their major hub there. United uses it as a connection point. I did enjoy the long concrete runways. Concrete is better than asphalt when sitting down a big jet.
