The Adventures of Furry….

Maybe I need to consider buying one. I have a deep fryer, but fried food takes up too much oil. The food is tainted from the taste of oil.
Used oil needs to be disposed of correctly.
you're right to get one......welcome to the family of Air fryer owners... we will never go back.....

Incidentally if you buy AF paper liners you wll save yourself a lot of washing up

Amazing night in Cardiff

Good morning.

I’m officially tired after last nights concert.
The Corrs came up with a set list that was significantly different from when I last saw them and contained some real gems that I would never have expected.
Anyway this is what I heard and it took them about one hour and forty five minutes to play..after Natalie Imbruglia had given us an hour( and it turns out I did know one of her songs!)..

Anyway next time they give us a tour I’m sure to be there.
Now onto the leather clad one on Sunday.
Suzi is on stage early at 7pm …no idea how long her show is but I might be home before midnight!

Nawr ar yr un â chladin lledr ddydd Sul.
Mae Suzi ar y llwyfan yn gynnar am 7pm ...dim syniad pa mor hir yw ei sioe ond efallai y byddaf adref cyn hanner nos!

Roeddwn i’n 15 oed pan ymddangosodd Suzi Quatro, 22 oed â chladin lledr, ar fy sgriniau teledu gyda gwregys ‘Can the Can’.
Hormonau cynddeiriog yn eu harddegau a hynny i gyd
😀
.
Fe’i gwelais unwaith fel rhan o daith Chwedlau’r Saithdegau ond yn olaf, dim ond 52 mlynedd ar ôl yr ymddangosiad hwnnw ar y teledu, 67 oed, gwelais Suzi yn 74 oed yn perfformio ar ei phen ei hun...gyda chymorth ei band presennol wrth gwrs.
Nid oes unrhyw rwystr i Suzi a berfformiodd griw o ganeuon yn amrywio o glasuron roc uchel i faledi unigol - ac roedd dwy ohonynt.
Roedd hi'n amlwg yn mwynhau ei hun i fyny ar y llwyfan ac yn cael digon o ryngweithio gyda'i chynulleidfa swynol…pwy pwy
amrywio mewn oedran o'r chwedegau i'r wythdegau!
A oedd un neu ddau yn rhai iau er…pobl synhwyrol.
Gobeithio bod rhywun wedi rhoi ei pherfformiad o Desperado ar-lein fel y gallaf ei bostio yma i chi.
Unrhyw un, mae hi'n addo y bydd hi'n parhau i berfformio nes iddi ollwng felly gobeithio bydd cyfle arall i'w gweld.
Hon oedd y rhestr set..anwybyddwch os ydych am ei gweld.

Ac mae’r hen steil agos-atoch New Theatre yng Nghaerdydd yn llawer gwell na’r arena helaeth welais i The Corrs ynddi ychydig ddyddiau yn ôl.

Llongyfarchiadau i Suzi am ddarparu’r perfformiad gorau oedd yna yng Nghaerdydd ddoe.
Rydw i wedi blino ar ôl ehangu llawer iawn o egni!
Gwych.
Nesaf i The UK Pink Floyd Exprience yng Nghasnewydd, dwy sioe Haf o'r West End am Bowie a Queen yn y New Theatre a mis Hydref nesaf gweld Talon yn perfformio set o ganeuon Eagles .
Fodd bynnag, ni fyddant yn gwneud fersiwn well o Desperado!
Monday November 18th

I was 15 when leather clad 22 year old Suzi Quatro appeared on my TV screens belting out ‘Can the Can’
Raging teenage hormones and all that
😀
.
I once saw her as part of a Seventies Legends tour but finally,a mere 52 years after that TV appearance 67 year old me saw 74 old Suzi perform on her own..with help from her current band of course.
Age no barrier for Suzi who performed a veritable cornucopia of song ranging from loud rock classics to solo ballads -of which there were two.
She was clearly enjoying herself up on stage and had plenty of interaction with her enraptured audience…most of whom who
ranged in age from the sixties to the eighties!
Were one or two younger ones though…sensible people.
Hope someone’s put her performance of Desperado online so I can post it here for you.
Anyone ,she pledges she will keep performing until she drops so hopefully there will be another chance to see her.
This was the set list..ignore if you are going to see her.

And the intimate old style New Theatre in Cardiff is much better than the vast arena I saw The Corrs in just a few days ago.

Congratulations to Suzi for providing the best performance there was in Cardiff yesterday.
I’m tired after expending a huge amount of energy!
Brilliant.
Next up The UK Pink Floyd Exprience in Newport, two Summer shows from the West End about Bowie and Queen at the New Theatre and next October seeing Talon performing a set of Eagles songs .
They won’t do a better version of Desperado though!

Mae'r gaeaf yn ddiflas…
Mae'r tywydd wedi golygu dim rygbi y ddau ddydd Sadwrn diwethaf a
mae hi’n bythefnos cyfan i fy sioe gyntaf y flwyddyn.
Ond amser i gynllwynio... ydw i'n gwneud fy nhaith griced fawr i Old Trafford neu Grace Road yn yr haf? Byth wedi bod i'r olaf ond mae gan y cyntaf westy ar y ddaear.
Yn y cyfamser byddaf yn mynd allan i’r dafarn am Cod and Chips heddiw ac o ystyried ei bod i fod i fod yn heulog a thros y rhewbwynt efallai y byddaf yn mynd ar daith Gaeaf i Fae Caerdydd.
Wetherspoons braf lawr fan yna!

Good morning.
Winter is boring…
The weather has meant no rugby the last two Saturdays and
it’s a whole two weeks to my first show of the year.
But time to plot…..do I make Old Trafford or Grace Road my big cricket trip of the summer?Never been to the latter but the former has a hotel on the ground.
Meanwhile I’ll go out to the pub for Cod and Chips today and given it’s supposed to be sunny and above freezing this week may make a Winter trip to Cardiff Bay.
Nice Wetherspoons down there!

Rugby is a winter sport. Weather must have been appalling for the game not to have started.
Sometimes it is best to go with what you know.

28th January 2025
A great night in the Congress last night
IMG_1041.jpeg
IMG_1038.jpeg
The character of Owen Brimble, superbly played by Johnathan Willis( that’s him with the scarf),to the fore again living in his bunker under the mountain.
Much laughter through the evening and this time the apocalypse did arrive as Owens prediction of the asteroid hitting in 2093 proved to be a bit off.
He’s now locked in the bunker with Susan Meredith-played by the playwright- for 50 years!
If Julia Lewis is to produce another installment it will be interesting to see where she goes.
Anyway,I’m a bit knackered this morning.
Not used to late nights.
Next week it’s ‘Bat Out of Hell’ in Cardiff.
Now for a late breakfast.

6th Feb
Good morning.
Just after midnight and in from the show.
First of all the cast can be seen here
Bat Out Of Hell | UK Tour 2025
And for those that don’t know this is the story behind the musical-
The musical, which is set in a dystopian world where a group of immortal bikers are harassed by a local war lord (only for one biker to fall in love with the war lord’s daughter), includes Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf’s iconic songs from the Bat Out of Hell albums, such as “You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth,” “Bat Out of Hell,” “I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That),” and “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad,” along with the previously unreleased song “What Part of My Body Hurts the Most.”.

Anyway I doubt many of us where there for the story which is really secondary to great performances of Jim Steinman / Meatloaf songs.
Those performances were all superb and I was highly delighted when Raven and Strat -eventually joined by Ravens parents-launched into ‘it’s All Coming Back To Me Now’ which I have on a 45 by Pandoras Box.
And at the end we failed to find out what Raven and Strat wouldn’t do for love.
Anything but not that!

The question we have all been pondering for years!
It really was a superb evening -which I got cheap in a Black Friday deal-and if the show comes around again in a year or two I think I would be happy to see it again.
Next up for me the UK Pink Floyd Experience in March but tonight was an evening that will live long in the memory.

The UK Pink Floyd Experience

Good Friday evening
I’m just in from the concert.

I have to say the UK Pink Floyd Experience were going to have a lot to live up to with me having seen Aussie Pink Floyd seven times.

And they certainly did.
Approximately 2 hours 10 minutes of non stop Pink Floyd music including the whole of the ‘Wish you were here’ album and lots of those Floyd tunes that are high on guitar and saxophone and short on lyrics.
Much to my delight they played Welcome to the Machine and Have a cigar( with that line ‘and by the way ,which ones Pink?).And a couple of tracks even this avid Floyd fan wasn’t familiar with.

They are in Cardiff next January but they’ve said they hope to be back in Newport too.I’ll go.

And the evening ends with a mystery…with nearly an hour to wait for a bus I got a taxi.
In the taxi office someone said hello to me.
I’m thinking I know you but who are you?
Her taxi arrived almost immediately but she said’take care mate’.
Racking my brains I think she might be a steward at the cricket but I’m not used to seeing her without a stewards jacket!
Mystery could be solved early next month!

Now I have to come down but I rarely sleep well after a concert.
Next two are in June…musicals woven around the music of Queen and Bowie.

Good morning..
Nothing much happening..must really start on the garden.

Today need to pick up my monthly prescription and phone the doctors.
Not because I’m ill but because from next month if I wish to continue ordering my prescription online I have to get on the Wales NHS app.

But I can’t because I have no acceptable forms of photo ID…my bus pass is not acceptable.
Don’t have a passport or driving licence or anything else listed.
Apparently there is something the surgery can do that will allow me access.

All because they are closing MyHealthOnline which I had to go through hoops to get on about six years ago.
If I can’t get this solved it is back to taking a paper script to the surgery every month..and I can’t do that at the branch surgery in the next street.

Only at HQ which takes two buses!

They like making things difficult-the pharmacy used to automatically order my prescription for me but the surgery stopped that.

At least they still let the pharmacy collect it…

Rant over…think I’ll go out for breakfast

Furry the surgery will give you a password to use on their portal, and then you just order through that . Then the prescription is sent to your pharmacy of choice...

oh FGS... what is the matter with the people who govern Wales...small mans' syndrome perhaps
Oh yeah….they have basically taken away a simple system that worked well and made things as awkward as possible.
And i have a suspicion it is just my practice that is this awkward.

I have the same problem as regards providing ID. There is this assumption that everyone has a driving licence, passport and a smartphone. I had to get a special ID card so that I could vote.

Can you change doctors ?...It's really hard here to change doctors now..they won't let us change out of the trust, despite my surgery being terrible......so I can't go to my friends' practice, which is just 15 minutes away because it's in a different town it's in a diferent trust ...and all the other surgeries in my town won't let anyone who is already registered with a doctor in town, change to them...

Yeah…I don’t have any of those.

I know one or two people that have but the other surgeries in town are,for me, even more awkward to get to.

15th March
Good Morning
Great win by my rugby team last night and if you’d told me that while waiting for my bus home I’d be discussing the crisis in Welsh rugby with a trans person called Jenna and a guy from Nigeria who will be serving £7 pints in the Millennium Stadium today I wouldn’t have believed you.
But I was.
Nice people!
Anyway it is Six Nations Super Saturday and every Welsh rugby fan will be agreeing with this
And I think we will!

Sunday
Good Morning.

Anyway cricket season is finally here.

Off to Cardiff from now until Tuesday.

Will have to put on some Suncream.

Anyway up early to do my ham rolls and will have breakfast in Newport Wetherspoons on the way.

That time of year when clothing choice is difficult.

Chilly when leaving home but going to be very warm later!

Good evening
After Glamorgans women’s team 🏏won their semifinal I’m off for a weekend in Worcester next week.

But as I have all the time in the world to get there ( and with engineering work messing up the trains)I and my friend have decided to go all the way by bus.

So we’ll be off to Hereford then getting another bus to Ledbury, where, armed with the information an online friend sent me,we’ll do some exploring and get some lunch.
Then another bus( one of the four a day)up to Worcester.

We intend to do the return trip by bus too…so more time in Ledbury on Monday although we fancy eating at Hereford Wetherspoons.

Hotel space at a premium in Worcester -Premier Inn and Wetherspoons all booked up -so I’m booked in the Travelodge near the Cathedral.
Ideal for Peregrine watching.
