How incredible is it that the Lone Ranger, and Zorro could wear a simple mask to conceal their eyes, and no one could figure out who they were.
Likewise, Superman could put on a pair of glasses and a hat, and presto, no resemblance.
I think celebrities must be doing it wrong.

I always wondered how Superman could change clothes in a phonebooth without somebody yelling "Oi, pal, you can't do that in there!"

AND, I assume he left his suit, shirt, tie, socks, shoes in there and they were still there when he came back?

Superman has a long standing of being the most revered super hero with fans numbering in the millions, I love him saving people from disaster, flying to the rescue, always coming out on top even after temporary setbacks from kryptonite, which are rare. But using an ordinary pair of glasses as a disguise and changing to his tights in phone booths??? WTF? What does he do with is regular clothes? He can't just leave them in a phone booth so some bum can walk off with them, and jujube is the only person I've ever heard asking where his clothes go when he changes into is flight gear.

I mean, people! With all those nut ball idiosyncrasies, why do we worship him like we do? Are we all that gullible?

Ha ha .... Maybe he had all the seats in the phone booths converted to footlockers, and he could just fog up the glass in the phone booth with his super-heated breath in the winter or super cool breath in the summer. It was on TV so it must be possible.

Btw, why did so many crusaders wear capes (Superman, Batman, Robin, Zorro). What was up with that?

A lot of disguises in those shows.

In New York City where I used to live, no one would complain. The phone booths were finally taken down because bums and homeless people would go in them and take a pee. Let the man go in and change. He won't pee. He's Superman!

Phone booths were central in the nonsense of Superman. Who could ever create changing from your geek disguise into your superhuman invincible flying suit in a phone booth? No one but Stan Lee could get away with that and turn it into an iconic part of the mythology.

At one time, it did make more sense, because I remember some old phone booths that did offer a modicum of privacy, but as society evolved, Superman had to find new ways to change outfits. The series Smallville, even though it's about Superman's high school days takes place in a much later part of the 20 Century, but it still pays homage to the legacy.

There are scenes in Smallville where young Superman is on his way to a rescue and needs to change, usually by swirling around too fast to notice, but a couple of times he passes an outside phone location, not even a booth. He pauses for an instant and looks at it like he's processing an idea, but then keeps going. It's very subtle. He doesn't shake his head and laugh to himself, doesn't change his expression. He's just having a second's thought.

Dude. The man could fly. Bullets bounced off his chest. He could jump over skyscrapers with a single bound ...who cares about his suits?

Maybe they flew home and hung themselves in his closet.

And Superman set the standard. What superhero wouldn't want to emulate Superman? Spider Man didn't, but he was a rebellious teen.

Well, if you wonder what happened to Superman's civilian clothes, then you also have to be a bit puzzled when Diana Prince spun around till her clothes disappeared and she turned into Wonder Woman. I guess I should have wondered where her clothes went or how she would recover them, but I will confess I really didn't care if she ever found them again.
