The "Ancient Astronauts" theory

It's a fascinating subject. Many instances of highly technical edifices and tunnels exist which have no information as to how they possibly could have been constructed with primitive tools.

I have no doubt that alien cultures have visited our Earth from the beginning. I just don't understand what their motivation would be to show us advanced techniques.
