The Army's New Super Cannon

A new super cannon capable of hitting targets 1,150 miles away is under development. This is 1,130 mile further than any current guns. It is called SLRC, Strategic Long Range Cannon. The first test will be in 2023. There are plans to adapt it to ships because if it is applied to land base application it will need the permission of the countries it is deployed in. The last battleship built for the U.S. Navy, the Iowa class had a powerful battery of nine 16 inch guns but could only hit targets 23.6 miles away.
