The Beatles collectively or individually?? A question.

Did you prefer the Beatles' music performed when they were a group? Or did you favor the individual albums of one or more of them after their breakup?

I preferred their songs and albums as a group. I thought the White Album was the best. I enjoyed it the most but Let it Be was awesome too. I did like some solo Beatles music. George was my favorite Beatle but his music as a solo artist was not my favorite. I preferred Ram by Paul McCartney. That album was just plain outrageous fun. I never bought any of John or Ringo's solo albums but I did like some of the songs during their solo years.

How about you? What is or was your choice in this?

I agree. I loved the White album. I thought Sgt. Peppers was overrated except for a couple of songs. People may hate me for this. But Sgt Pepper was not a rave album.

good question hard one to answer. I was never a Beatles fan per se.. because they weren't my era, they disbanded when I was just 15, they were my mothers' era.....I knew all the words to their songs obviously because I heard them all my childhood..

In the 70's as I went through my teens, and ultimately my 20's George , John and Ringo had solo hits, and Paul too with Wings...

I hate most of Wings music, really couldn;t stand it....Paul has always been the Beatle I liked the least

I was never a fan of John's much either apart from one Christmas song which I have in my 45 collection..

However I loved all of George & Ringo's music ... as individuals, and even George with the brilliant Travelling Wilbury's

Then in my 40's or even 50's I came to really like the Beatles music, my daughter had played a lot of their stuff like Norwegian wood etc, when she had her band in the 90's... but really I wasn't a fan of the Beatles generally.. but I did grow into them albeit 40 years after they disbanded..

I think that comparing in particular George's solo music for example Crackerjack Palace ..or My sweet Lord, to any McCartney penned song is comparing apples with prickly pears.. ..so I don't think it's possible to compare them to be honest...

I don't know the whereabouts of my White album, no doubt in the collection of some ex wife. But I gotta say, I played that album so much I'm sure the grooves were close to being worn clean through the vinyl.

Lol, I don't remember what the added bonus was in the White album that @MarkinPhx mentioned, but I do recall several of us utilizing the bonus in Cheech & Chongs Up in Smoke album.
It was a weak attempt at humor. I was referring to the double album cover itself, not the White Album specifically. Many moons ago my friends and I used to separate the stems and seeds from a particular plant bud using a double album. I had a friend who usually only listened to the Beatles and Pink Floyd and I have vivid memories of him using the White album cover cleaning out the buds while listening to the White album. I thought that was a common practice but I guess not .

To answer the question, I prefer the Beatles music as a group but did enjoy the solo work when they did break up. I enjoyed Paul McCartney's work the most. I enjoy a good pop/rock music sound and McCartney was one of the best at doing it.

I love music. It's a huge part of my every day life. But damn, I just hate the Beatles. I own one related album, Wings Band on the Run. It has one truly great song (Let Me Roll It), and mostly sticks with me because my sister owned it and loved it back on the day. I have a sizable record collection, but no Beatles.

I liked the Beatles as a group best. They all had a way of simplifying their contributions and they sounded good together. They complemented each other well.

When I was a youngster I’d skip school and go in my brother’s room and listen to their records. It was one of my favourite things to do.

I liked Paul’s solo albums as well as John’s but never quite got into Ringo or George’s stuff.

As a musician I find the Beatles music really easy to learn. All their music is in simple key signatures.

I liked solo Paul the best too for the same reasons.

The group like every fan. I like Ringos albums better than the others ironically.
White album not a favorite yet loved it in the 60s. Revolver album stands out to me

The Beatles never did it for me, but I did like some of their music when performed by orchestras.

I liked them as a group best. Rubber Soul probably my favourite album. The last album I bought was Sergeant Pepper, I was very disappointed with it and never bought another Beatles record after that. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
