The best part of getting old.

I take solace that there's less of destruction of our beautiful planet and less social decline that I have to witness. SNAFU & FUBAR are the acronyms of our times.
I didn't really want to have kids but did so anyway, who 9/11/2001 was going to be a tipping point?

EDIT:- I'll try not to post a third time in this thread, I don't think that you want to know what I really think. Posts #6 & #13 are input so far.

The best part of getting old is allowing the next generation to step up and take responsibility for keeping the world spinning.

I’m content to just putter around and live quietly on the sidelines.

I try to filter out and project my parents best qualities while remaining mindful of their worst.

I believe that they both did their best by us while dealing with their own issues and that any failures or shortcomings were not a reflection of their feelings for me or my brothers and sister. 🤗

I don't think there are many good things about getting old, except maybe that you can do whatever you please and not give a xxxx about others might think. I try to be nothing like my parents were.
Yes!
The best part of getting old used to be that nobody, but nobody talked back to me, but that was before I met up with SeniorForums.

With age comes experience, you know that you are old enough to know better, but you are still young enough not to care!
